Cargo owner

화주는 운송·통관을 맡기는 화물의 주인입니다. 보내는 쪽을 송하인, 받는 쪽을 수하인이라 하며, 둘을 아울러 화주라고 부릅니다.

화주는 '물건의 임자'입니다. 해외에서 물건을 사오는 사람이든 파는 사람이든, 그 화물의 주인이 화주입니다. 송하인과 수하인 운송 계약에서는 역할에 따라 이름이 갈립니다. - 송하인 — 물건을 보내는 쪽 - 수하인 — 물건을 받는 쪽 이 둘을 통틀어 화주라고 부릅니다. 화주가 운송인과 직접 계약하면 화주가 곧 송하인이 되고, 포워더에게 맡기면 포워더가 송하인 자리에 서기도 합니다. 통관에서의 화주 수입신고에서 관세·부가세를 내는 납세의무자는 원칙적으로 화주입니다. 개인통관고유부호도 화주(구매자) 본인의 것을 써야 하고, 일회용 인증번호도 화주에게 갑니다.
