MBL (Master Bill of Lading)
Master B/L
A bill of lading issued by the carrier to the forwarder. It covers the consignments of many shippers at once, so an individual cannot locate their own parcel by this number.
It is issued for the unit that is loaded onto the ship or aircraft, and may contain hundreds of individual consignments.
If the number you were given begins with H it is a house bill; otherwise it may be a master number. In that case, ask the shop or the forwarding address for the HBL.
