Irregular parcel (oversized or odd-shaped)

irregular cargo · oversized parcel · odd-shaped parcel · non-standard parcel

A status marked irregular means the item is over the normal parcel size or weight, or shaped so it cannot run on the standard line. Collected means picked up, line-haul means moving between hubs, delivered means handed over.

Irregular here means irregularly shaped. It covers items over the normal parcel limits for size or weight, or shaped so they cannot run on the same line as ordinary boxes — furniture, exercise equipment, long poles, anything on wheels. What the three statuses mean - Irregular, collected — the carrier has taken the item and classified it as irregular - Irregular, in line-haul — it is moving between hubs. Line-haul is the leg between terminals - Irregular, delivered — it has been handed over Strip the word irregular and these are the same three stages as any parcel. Why it can take longer Irregular cargo runs on a separate track. It cannot go through the automatic sorter, so people move it by hand, and it needs its own vehicles and storage. CJ Logistics has expanded this service through a partnership with Daeshin, which means a different company may carry some legs. So it commonly arrives a day or two after an ordinary parcel sent the same day. Sitting in line-haul for several days does not necessarily mean it is stuck. If nothing changes for days Irregular cargo waits longer at hubs for the next vehicle. Still, if nothing moves for more than three or four days, ask the sender or the carrier to check the waybill number.
